Live, Grow, and Belong: Life at the WTFUP Community
Community Living & Daily Participation
Your stay at WTFUP Center includes taking part in activities within our small community. These experiences are central to what we offer.
For this reason, we do not accept severe cases of depression or social anxiety that may require medical attention first. We aim to create a balanced and supportive environment for everyone.
We encourage each guest to behave like a member of a big family, not an isolated or self-focused tourist.
Each day, you spend a couple of hours in honest and supportive social interaction. You may also help with simple tasks like cooking, cleaning, or gardening.
You can dedicate the rest of your day to personal growth and self-reflection.
We also organize group activities from time to time. These may include meditation, sports, or hiking to support shared growth.
Eco-Friendly Accommodation & Sustainable Living
In terms of accommodation, as displayed in the below video, we’ve opted for eco-friendly lodges and tents, shared by 2 to 3 guests, rather than a fancy cemented housing, for the obvious reason that WTFUP school is located within a natural reserve, full of a diverse life from plants to insects to birds. So, we are just guests in this raw, beautiful nature. Our water comes fresh from a source 333 meters below the ground, and the sun is our unique electricity provider. Our long-term goal is to build an 80% fully-independent community in terms of energy and resources.
As with every shared place, be it a city or a temple, a few rules are important to consider (exceptions aside) before your arrival in order to keep a decent level of order, cleanness and mutual harmony inside the center.
- Smoking and alcoholic beverages not allowedÂ
- Silence to be respected from 10 PM to 8 AM
- Respecting everyone, no matter its sexual orientation and background
- Tidying up / Cleaning your sleeping zone every start of the day
- Limiting digital use (phone, laptop) to 2 hours max per day
- Contributing to the community/center around 2h per dayÂ
- Being open to challenging your old beliefs and conditioning
